Bulgaria’s Ambassador in Islamabad Irena Gancheva and Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Managing Director Muhammad Asim Khichi, have discussed the role of media in society, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission said on its website.

During their conversation, both sides underlined the importance of media in society and the responsibility of official mass media to provide true and proofread facts, as well as to fight disinformation and fake news, the embassy added.

In this context, Gancheva and Muhammad Asim Khichi explored ways for enhancing cooperation between the Bulgarian News Agency and APP, including by signing a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding that would contribute to increasing mutual knowledge and strengthening the relations between Bulgaria and Pakistan.
