The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a first-degree warning, code yellow, for hot weather with maximum temperatures between 34C and 39C on June 10 and 11.

Temperatures will reach between 34C and 39C, slightly lower temperatures along the Black Sea, and 33C in Sofia.

Southwesterly winds are expected to increase the content of Saharan dust in Bulgaria’s air.

NIMH assistant forecaster Dr. Krasimir Stoev told BTA at the end of May that during most days of the first ten days of June the air mass over the country will be unstable, cumulus clouds will develop and in many places there will be short-term precipitation and thunderstorms, but temperatures will be higher than usual.
