The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved a grant of EUR 30,000  (BGN 58,664) for the implementation of the project "Identifying Empirical Strategies to Improve Action Towards Local Vaccine Production in Nigeria", with the Federal Agency for Research on Vaccines and Medicines in the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the beneficiary.

The project is being implemented under a special measure to strengthen manufacturing capacity and access to vaccines, medical supplies and health technologies in Africa and is part of the EU's regional Team Europe initiative for manufacturing and access to vaccines, medicines and health technologies in sub-Saharan Africa.

Bulgaria is already participating in the regional Team Europe initiative, providing in 2022 financial support for the implementation of the project "EU Support to Promote Local Production and Access to Vaccines in Nigeria" together with an EU delegation in Abuja.
