site.btaNATO Secretary General Stoltenberg Awarded for Outstanding Service to Alliance

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg received an Award for Outstanding Service to the Alliance here on Monday. The award was presented to him by the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NPA), Michal Szczerba, during the plenary session of the NPA Spring Session hosted by Sofia between May 25 and 27.

Szczerba said that NATO has grown stronger and more united under Stoltenberg's leadership. The NPA President noted that the Alliance has expanded with two new members, Sweden and Finland. Addressing the Secretary General, Szczerba said that he has opened up the opportunity for closer cooperation with NATO’s democratic partners so that they can defend the international democratic order. The NPA President said that more achievements could be added to the long list of all of Stoltenberg's accomplishments by the time his mandate expires.
