site.btaEducation Minister Tzokov Attends Academic Ceremony in Sofia University
According to Caretaker Education and Science Minister Galin Tzokov, in recent years, Bulgarian higher education has made a very good transition, allowing young Bulgarians to seek career development in their homeland. Tzokov attended an academic ceremony at the Aula of the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia on the occasion of May 24 - Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and of Slavic Literature.
According to Tzokov, it is very important for higher education in Bulgaria to reach higher and higher scores in world universities rankings. This year, Sofia University is in the top 4.7%, compared to the rest of the universities worldwide, which is a huge achievement, the Minister emphasized.
Tzokov expressed his desire for Sofia University and Bulgarian universities to remain places of spirit and freedom, places of the future, as they educate, motivate and give start in life to the young people of Bulgaria.
Attending the solemn ceremony were Sofia University Rector Prof. Georgi Valchev, government officials, academia, students, and citizens.
