Bulgaria’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Ivan Kondov, has conferred with Denmark’s Ambassador to this country, Jes Brogaard Nielsen, the Foreign Ministry reported here on Thursday. During the discussions, the two diplomats underlined the long-standing fruitful cooperation between the two countries, both on a bilateral level and within the EU and NATO.

The sides discussed the EU's priorities for the next institutional cycle, focusing on improving competitiveness and strengthening the single market, security and defence, energy security, migration, and EU enlargement.

Kondov identified the abolition of Schengen land border controls as a priority for Bulgaria. He expressed concern about developments in the Republic of North Macedonia and the need for the country to implement the European consensus of 2022.
