Bulgarian leaders on Friday are extending greetings on the occasion of International Women's Day.
In a Facebook post, President Rumen Radev wished women and mothers to be happy, loved and appreciated and to continue to be "our bulwark and inspiration".
National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov also extended greetings on the occasion at the opening of the legislature's plenary sitting.
UN marked March 8 as International Women's Day (IWD) for the first time in 1975, which was declared International Women's Year.
In December 1977 the UN General Assembly a resolution proclaiming a United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace to be observed on any day of the year by Member States, in accordance with their historical and national traditions.
The IWD 2024 campaign theme is "Inspire Inclusion". The idea is to inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion.
