site.btaSofia Mayor Terziev Confers with Azerbaijani Ambassador Huseyn Huseynov

The possibilities of a joint memorandum of cooperation between Sofia and Baku were discussed at a meeting between Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, Huseyn Huseynov, Sofia city hall reported on Thursday. 

A similar memorandum already exists between the historic Azerbaijani capital and Veliko Tarnovo (North-Central Bulgaria). This has resulted in investments in Veliko Turnovo and joint projects worth over EUR 10 million, Terziev said.

Azerbaijan's Embassy is active in the capital and supports initiatives such as reforestation in parks, community support, medical equipment for hospitals, Sofia city hall recalled. 

At the meeting, Ambassador Huseynov invited Terziev to participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, which will be held in the Azeri capital of Baku.

On February 13, the Vassil Terziev also announced meetings he had with the ambassadors of Austria and Japan. In his talks with the Austrian Ambassador, he presented some of the main priorities for the development of the capital, and with the Japanese Ambassador he discussed the possibility of investment by Japanese companies.
