Bulgaria's contribution to the stabilization and reconstruction process in Iraq was discussed by the Charge d'Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Baghdad, Nikola Draganov, and the country's Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al Shammari, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Baghdad said on its official website.

"Mr Draganov underlined the traditionally good relations and fruitful cooperation in the field of security and military-industrial cooperation. He stressed our country's contribution to the process of stabilisation and reconstruction of Iraq and the fight against ISIS," the Bulgarian Embassy said, adding that Nikola Draganov has given assurances of Bulgaria's support for efforts to further Iraq's political and economic development.

Draganov also invited Minister Abdul Amir Al Shammari to visit Bulgaria.

The Iraqi Interior Minister noted that he considers Bulgaria a friendly country with a serious contribution to the efforts for the lasting stabilisation and reconstruction of Iraq and with a focus on policies to help the Iraqi people prosper. He underlined the commitment of the Iraqi authorities to ensure the protection and security of diplomatic missions in the country and expressed readiness for further development of bilateral security cooperation, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission said.
