Three bitcoin mining machines were uncovered on Friday in municipal-owned rooms of the stadium in the western town of Dupnitsa, the Kyustendil police told BTA. The devices were found by municipal security officers.

The machines were not operational, the spokesperson for the regional police directorate said. She added that an inspection had been carried out by employees of the power transmission company, and no material damage was reported. The inspection is still underway, Kyustendil police said, adding that pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.

"I do not know anything about the case. The stadium is to be renovated and the machines were discovered during the preparations. Some of the rooms were locked, but I do not have more information," Dupnitsa Mayor Parvan Dangov told BTA.
