site.btaGovernment Allocates BGN 1-Plus Mln to Support National Education Programmes, BGN 2-Plus Mln to Help Modernize Vocational Secondary Schools

The Cabinet Wednesday allocated BGN 1,036,263 to finance activities under four national education development programmes, the Government information service said.

BGN 342,614 will be allocated for the provision of substitute teachers for the period July-September 2023. The funding will be disbursed across 352 schools and 79 nurseries.

BGN 318,540 is earmarked for software vocational education and training in cooperation with universities and IT employers.

A total of 600 municipal educational institutions and 1,436 teachers will receive BGN 209,019. The funding is intended to help improve teachers’ health and prevent socially significant and occupational diseases.

BGN 163,388 will be disbursed to support seven municipal vocational secondary schools under the National Vocational Education and Training Programme.

The Government also approved an additional BGN 2,212,542 for the improvement of vocational secondary schools’ facilities in different areas of the country. The funding will contribute to the renovation and modernization of the regional educational infrastructure in Bulgaria, which began under the Regions in Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020.
