The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, arrived on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the Bulgarian head of State, Rumen Radev, the Bulgarian President's press secretariat said here on Thursday. The visit is in the context of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Albania, which is celebrated this year.

Begai and his wife Armanda Begai will be welcomed by Rumen Radev and Desislava Radeva with an official ceremony in front of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral at 10 am. The Albanian head of State will lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier. The two presidents will hold a one-on-one meeting, after which they will chair plenary talks between the official delegations of Bulgaria and Albania.

The focus of the talks between Presidents Radev and Begaj will be the deepening of cooperation between the two countries, the enlargement process of the European Union, the security and defence partnership, as well as issues on the regional agenda.

On Wednesday, Presidents Rumen Radev and Bayram Begay, together with their wives, attended the Sofia premiere of the operetta-musical Callas and Onassis at the National Palace of Culture. The performance featured soloists, choir and ballet of the Varna State Opera, and orchestra and choir of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania.
