site.btaPM: Wages in Some Second-Level Spending Units Are Very Low, That Will Have to Change
Wages in some second-level spenders of state budget funding are very low and that will have to change, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said during a Q&A session on Facebook Tuesday. "That is why one of our tasks in the first days of January next year is to prepare, based on an analysis, a government ordinance to ensure a distribution of the available funding in a way that will restore justice and raise wages where they are very low," Denkov said.
The second-level spending units include most state agencies where protests flare up occasionally against low pay. One ongoing protest is by staffers of the Social Assistance Agency offices across the country, who threaten to hold a national rally outside the government HQs unless their demands are heard.
The Prime Minister said that in the first-level spenders such as the government ministries, "wages are better balanced".
