Emerging from a party meeting on Tuesday, GERB floor leader Dessislava Atanassova said that there are some sectors where the government is showing a persistent failure to do as said in the governance programme.

Atanassova did not say what these sectors are but said her party made a decision that the sectoral parliamentary committees will invite the lines ministers to answer questions. "Where there are clear delays and non-performance, we will demand answers," she said.

She also said: "The support we gave to the government was based on a governance and legislative agenda. The governance programme for this mandate is for 18 months, and we are currently focused on analyzing whether all the commitments are being implemented by the executive branch and the legislature."

She said that the party meeting will last "for a few more hours".

Atanasova pointed out that the GERB will be present will be in the plenary on Thursday. “There will be a very significant discussion on the tax laws, on the State Budget Act, which is being prepared without the participation of our parliamentary group and our experts, we are yet to make an analysis for a unified position of the party - what we will support in the tax legislation, in the State Budget, and how many of all the major infrastructure projects we want to see included there,” she added.

“If there is a question we have to answer at the moment, it is whether there is a chance, a probability, that this government will work better,” GERB Deputy Chair Tomislav Donchev said. “Once we answer this question, we will have an answer to the question what will be our position on the no-confidence vote,” he explained.

“GERB is concerned about the quality and pace of the cabinet's work. I will tell you in advance that I find it unsatisfactory,” Donchev noted.
