Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov will visit Israel on Monday, the government press service said. Within the visit to Jerusalem, he will hold a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Bulgarian delegation, led by Denkov, will also include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.

"Tensions are very high there. If the conflict escalates, it could have enormous consequences around the world. That is why it is important to find the right balance. Freeing the hostages is key, as well as reducing the danger of such terrorist attacks by Hamas, because you see that they have no inhibitions. The Israeli point of view must also be heard, and we must make sure that there is humanitarian support on the other side as well. Both sides need to be heard," Denkov stated a day before his visit.
