site.btaCabinet Approves Bulgaria's Participation in 60th Edition of Venice Art Biennale in 2024

The Council of Ministers adopted Wednesday a decision on Bulgaria’s participation in the 60th edition of the Biennale Arte in Venice, Italy, from April 20 to November 24, 2024.

The Biennale features multiple disciplines and for more than 120 years has been among the most prestigious cultural institutions worldwide. The international art exhibition is held every two years and follows a pre-announced theme with a socially relevant message. The title of the 60th Art Biennale is "Foreigners Everywhere".

The 2024 Biennale will focus on artists who are foreigners, immigrants, migrants, exiles and refugees - especially those who have moved between the global South and the global North. 

The decision aims to promote the achievements of contemporary Bulgarian art, stimulate bilateral cooperation in the visual arts and the mobility of artists, strengthen Bulgaria's image and use this country's capacity to achieve significant foreign policy goals and priorities in the field of culture and visual arts.
