site.btaNational Service for Protection to Host 4th Conference of Protection Services of EU Member States' Parliaments

The Bulgarian National Service for Protection (NSP) will host the 4th edition of a conference featuring the protection services of the parliaments of the European Union’s Member States, which will take place in the first half 2024, the NSP said in a press release on Monday. The news were announced at the 3rd edition of the forum, which was held in Brussels on October 13.

NSP’s candidacy was preferred to that of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, which took part as a guest in the forum of the representatives of the EU parliamentary institutions. The NSP has represented Bulgaria since the establishment of the format in 2018 and the decision taken on October 13 is an expression of the traditional trust that the state protection service enjoys among the partner structures of the EU countries, the press release reads.

The 4th edition of the event is expected to focus on the security challenges in the context of the terrorist aggression against the State of Israel and the ongoing war in Ukraine, as well as the cooperation between intelligence, security and police structures in the implementation of security missions.
