COVID-19 will be removed from the Health Act, where it is listed as a particularly dangerous infection, Health Minister Hristo Hinkov said on Bulgarian National Television’s morning show on Saturday. The removal will lead to a change in the COVID-19 measures, including the obligatory quarantine, he explained.

Specialists say that the new COVID-19 variant does not cause complications; the mortality rate and number of hospitalizations are not high, Hinkov noted. There is strong interest in the vaccines against COVID-19, with 18,800 people having gotten the jab thus far. The options for inoculation are being expanded, including for flu shots, the Minister said.
