The government's main goal is for Bulgaria to be fully integrated in the coming years into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov told the participants in a business breakfast of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham Bulgaria) and the Bulgarian government on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of bilateral relations between the united States and Bulgaria.

He noted that all actions of the government are aimed at achieving three goals.

Firstly, the integration into the euro structures such as the euro area, Schengen, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, cooperation with key countries such as the US, the EU as an organisation. Effort is aimed at the development of Bulgaria as a normal European state, he said.

The second goal is pragmatism, Denkov said. In his words, the changes in the laws, the decisions that the government is taking are aimed at calmly, methodically, systematically making the changes that people have been waiting for for years. It is difficult, but the cabinet has a clear and concrete plan, he said.

The third point is that the cabinet is much more stable than it probably seems, Denkov said. There are and will be tensions, disputes too, interests to face, which will attempt to interfere with what the government is doing, he added. He said the important thing is that the large majority in the National Assembly and the people support the common goal.

Denkov said that he will rely on cooperation with the US Chamber of Commerce and EU colleagues to achieve these goals.
