site.btaBulgaria Receives 80,640 Doses of Latest Vaccine against COVID-19

A total of 80,640 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19's XBB 1.5 variant of Omicron have been delivered to Bulgaria. They will start being administered on September 27, 2023, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

The vaccine is for persons aged 12 and up. Doses of the vaccine for children aged between 6 months and 11 years are expected to be delivered early next week. The doses will be provided to the regional health inspectorates across the country.

The vaccine for children is administered in one dose for those aged over 5 regardless of whether the child has been vaccinated against COVID-19 before or has had the virus. Children under 5 years of age who have not had COVID-19 or have not been vaccinated against it before, should receive three doses.
