Relatives of people killed in road accidents gathered for a national protest in Sofia on Sunday. They demand adequate measures to stop the war on the roads.
They are bringing bouquets of flowers in memory of accident victims and are adamant that they will gather every Sunday at 6:00 pm to protest.
The relatives also ask for an urgent leadership meeting to explain what the problems regarding the issue are. “We are waiting for years for forensics, cases are delayed for years, and the killers are walking free with valid driving licenses,” Petya Ivanova, one of the protesters, told reporters.
“We will not give up this leadership meeting,” Ivanova added. There will be protests until it takes place and until they change the laws urgently, she stressed.
A meeting is expected to take place at the Justice Ministry on Monday, Ivanova pointed out
