Deputy Foreign Minister Tihomir Stoychev met with Slovenian Ambassador to Bulgaria Natasa Bergelj on Thursday. The two expressed their satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations, which are characterized by an active political dialogue and the sharing of similar positions on issues on the regional, European and global agenda.

It was noted that trade between the two countries has doubled. Readiness was expressed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, defence, education, culture and the fight against climate change.

Stoychev stressed that Bulgaria relies on Slovenia's support for its accession to the Schengen area, the Eurozone and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. It was shared that Bulgaria and Slovenia share common views on the stability and security of the Western Balkans and the European perspective of the countries in the region.
