The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to open a consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria, the Cabinet press office said on Thursday. The consulate will be headed by an honorary consular official, based in Plovdiv and a consular regional covering the territory of the regions of Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Pleven and Lovech. The government also adopted a decision to give consent to Plamen Panchev, a Bulgarian citizen, to perform the functions of Honorary Consular Official of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria, based in Plovdiv.

Panchev is the Chairman of the Sienit Holding’s Board of Directors. In his capacity as Honorary Consular Officer he will be expected to actively work for maintaining and deepening the excellent bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.
