A protest against the Government's policies was held in front of the building of the Council of Ministers and the new building of the National Assembly on Thursday morning. The protesters were chanting, "Resignation". Among them were also MPs of Vazrazhdane and representatives of The Left! coalition and the MIR party.

Petar Nedevski, who said he was among the protest's organizers, told BTA that the protest was a sign of the discontent from the policy conducted by the power holders. "The time has come for them to leave," he added. In his words, the protest is self-organized - from person to person, from organization to organization - by all those who care for their fatherland.

Vazrazhdane MP Deyan Nikolov commented for BTA that he supports the protest because its demands coincide with the party's views. "Active citizens organized it, they contacted us. Of course, we are here to support it," he noted. Among the demands are resignation of the Government and a referendum to keep the Bulgarian currency.

Rumen Petkov, head of the ABV party within The Left! coalition, commented that there are many reasons for the protest, but the main one is the ugly fraud that the government of GERB and Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria is. According to him, its serious crimes and hits are against the Bulgarian energy sector, for example what is being done with the Belene N-plan project and with Neftohim's Rosenets oil port concession contract. Petkov also noted the Cabinet's "absolute powerlessness in fighting crime" and "chaotic legislation".
