The Council of Ministers approved a draft programme for joint action between the ministries of tourism of Bulgaria and Greece for the period 2024-2026.
The document reflects the readiness of the two countries to strengthen their friendly relations and contribute to the further development of cooperation in the field of tourism.
The two ministries will promote their joint cooperation, both in the development of the types of tourism with the greatest potential for attracting tourists, such as spa, cultural, maritime, mountain, ecotourism, etc., as well as in the field of qualification of personnel and participation in joint projects with European funding. The two countries will cooperate within the framework of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), among others.
Greece is among the main tourist markets for Bulgaria. In 2022, over 806,000 visits of Greek tourists to Bulgaria and over 1.3 million trips of Bulgarians to Greece were registered.
