MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk discussed Bulgaria's potential Schengen accession with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, the MEP's press centre said on Tuesday. Kyuchyuk is on a two-day visit to Slovenia, where he is participating in the 18th Bled Strategic Forum, which this year is held under the slogan "Solidarity for Global Security".
Golob reaffirmed his support for the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to Schengen, saying the membership of the two countries would strengthen the European Union, the press release said.
During his visit to Bled, Kyuchyuk also met with Slovenian Infrastructure Minister Alenka Bratusek.
Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel are also attending the Bled Strategic Forum.
