The Sofia City Prosecution Office wants the court to remand in custody former gambling business mogul Vassil Bojkov, the prosecuting magistracy said Saturday, specifying that the request and the evidence will be submitted to the court shortly.
The prosecution service is seeking Bojkov's arrest in only one of the cases against him - the one related to his gambling business. In that investigation, Bojkov is accused of leading an organized crime group, which has allegedly been active since 2014 and was involved in extortion, bribery, money laundering and malfeasance in office.
There is also secret evidence as part of the investigation.
Vassil Bojkov arrived at Sofia Airport on August 25 and was detained for 72 hours.
