Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Iliev held a meeting with US Ambassador Kenneth Merten. They discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of sport and youth policies. 

Minister Iliev presented to Ambassador Merten the main priorities of the team of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including providing the best conditions for training and competition for Bulgarian athletes for their participation in the Olympic Games in Paris next year. In this context, Iliev expressed his desire to get acquainted with the best practices introduced in the national sports facilities in the USA in the Olympic sports. The minister added that along with elite sport, his team is actively working for accessible sport for all. The importance of sports in schools and universities was also highlighted during the discussion.

The two officials expressed readiness to exchange experience and implement joint projects in the field of sports and youth policies.
