A humanitarian corps established at the National Association of Volunteers in Bulgaria (NAVRB) is helping the integration of Ukrainian refugees who have come to Bulgaria, NAVRB announced on Thursday.

The project is implemented with the financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area.

The project aims to increase the capacity of the association of volunteers to cope with the refugee wave, to ensure the continuation of the integration process and increase the effectiveness of the organization's efforts to deal with the crisis, explained Yassen Tsvetkov, President of NAVRB.

Some of the activities are related to providing adequate welcome and orientation, finding shelter and establishing a safe place to live, providing basic support of food and necessities, and providing medical care. Others relate to working with institutions and helping to overcome language barriers.
