Ivaylo Shotev was appointed Deputy Economy Minister, as Ivaylo Staykov is leaving the post on his own will, the line ministry said on Wednesday.

Shotev was a member of the 47th, 48th and 49th National Assemblies. He has extensive management experience in the private sector, pharmaceutical industry and trade. He is an economist by education and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from University College London (UCL). Shotev obtained his Master's degree from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, majoring in Economics and Politics.
