In an Instagram post on Monday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia would always be a reliable partner of the European Union. The post was made shortly after he arrived in the Albanian city of Durres, where a meeting on the Brdo-Brijuni Process was due to begin.
Vucic declared that, despite the numerous challenges ahead, Serbia will continue to prioritize EU enlargement. He added that he expects the Brdo-Brijuni Process to lead to clear conclusions, as only sincerity and consistency in the approach of all parties can lead to lasting sustainability and trust in countries in the region.
The heads of state participating in the Brdo-Brijuni Process will discuss accelerating accession to the EU, strengthening regional stability, and the economic and social transformation of Southeastern European countries.
The Brdo-Brijuni Process is a joint Slovene-Croatian initiative launched in 2010 with the aim of strengthening mutual trust and cooperation among Western Balkan countries on their path to accession to the European Union. Members of the initiative include Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and the founding countries of Slovenia and Croatia, which are EU Member States.
