Minister of Health Silvi Kirilov visited the St. George University Hospital in Plovdiv Sunday and met with the two patients from North Macedonia remaining there and the medical teams caring for them.

"I would like to thank for the high professionalism of all colleagues and for the excellent work done. You have proved that the most valuable help is timely help. However, as physicians, we know that the strength of the human spirit and the will to live is also of utmost importance. I am happy that these two men have demonstrated just that," said Minister Kirilov.

After six weeks of treatment, including a series of surgical interventions, rehabilitation and psychological support, the patients in St. George are about to be discharged.

Following the tragic incident in Kocani nightclub Bulgaria was the first country to offer medical assistance to the victims of the fire. Fifteen people from North Macedonia were accommodated in three hospitals in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna.

Four Kocani patients remain in Pirogov Hospital, one in the Military Medical Academy Hospital in Varna, and all other patients have been successfully discharged.
