World-renowned artist Jimmy Turrell will present a pop-up exhibition inspired by his impressions of the country. The exhibition is titled “Deset/10” and will open on April 29 at the capital's Lobster gallery, part of the L44 space, the organizers said. It will last until May 13.
The team noted that the works are inspired by five main themes: objects, books, vinyl, buildings and photographs, each related to Turrell's stay here and presented through 10 materials, united in five unique collages.
"An artist and video director, Turrell is widely known for his work on musical projects for names such as the Rolling Stones, the Chemical Brothers, Elvis Presley, Beck, AC/DC and the Prodigy, as well as his impressive commercial work for brands such as Chanel, Nike, Lexus, the New York Times, Vanity Fair and many others. He works with hybrid techniques, mostly collage," the organizers of the exhibition also said.
Jimmy Turrell is a British artist and video director, known for his bright, rebellious visual style. In his practice, he combines analog and digital techniques. Turrell is a graduate of Central Saint Martins School of Art, one of the most prestigious art universities in London. His work explores the connections between art, music and pop culture, often with a critical and provocative message.
