Folklore is the emblem of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage, Bulgarian Ambassador to Romania Radko Vlaykov said on Monday at the inauguration of the exhibitions "Brand Bulgaria - a country of wonders" and "Bulgaria from a bird's eye view" in the Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest. The event was part of the side programme of the European Cultural Heritage Summit organized by Europa Nostra, which took place in the Romanian capital on October 6-8 under the patronage of the country's President Klaus Iohannis.

The opening of the exhibitions was also attended by the Secretary of State of the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Terente Ciui, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs of Romania, and Europa Nostra Vice-President Piet Jaspaert, together with representatives of the organization, including the Chairperson of the Cultural Heritage Society, Slavka Bozukova, the national representative of the Bulgarian minority in the Romanian Parliament, Georgi Nakov, as well as representatives of other diplomatic missions in Bucharest.

For the opening of the exhibitions, the building of the Embassy was illuminated in the colours of the Bulgarian flag.

The event was accompanied by a short folklore programme by Ruse ensemble Kukeri.
