Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Thursday met with the newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador Zhelyazko Radukov in parliament. Gashi wished Radukov a successful and productive tenure in North Macedonia.
The meeting shows a commitment to deepening cooperation, a readiness for open dialogue and building closer ties between people. It is crucial to improve infrastructure with a focus on Corridor 8, which is strategically important, said the Assembly of North Macedonia. "It is important to find a form of understanding, of dialogue for building good neighbourly relations, because the past cannot be changed but the future can, and this will be achieved with goodwill and good intentions. EU membership will benefit our country, as well as for Bulgaria and the whole region," said the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Parliamentary cooperation should continue and become more dynamic through parliamentary committees and groups, as well as through higher-level visits, the Assembly said.
Referring to Bulgaria's October 27 parliamentary elections, Gashi expressed a hope that they will be peaceful and successful and will lead to a stable government focused on building relationships.
