site.btaEU Commissioner Iliana Ivanova Visits Istanbul for EU-Turkiye High-Level Dialogue on Science, Research, Technology and Innovation

EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Iliana Ivanova, on Thursday is visiting Istanbul to participate in the second EU-Turkyie High-Level Dialogue on science, research, technology and innovation, said the EU Delegation to Turkiye. Ivanova will hold talks with Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir on topics related to green growth and digital transformation.

During the visit, Ivanova will award the European Prize for Women Innovators to Professor Rana Sanyal. The Commissioner will also participate in the European Innovation Council (EIC) Awards ceremony under the Plug-in Scheme, which recognizes the results of three Turkish national innovation programmes, as well as the opening of a research centre at Bogazici University.

The EU-Turkiye High-Level Dialogue on science, research, technology and innovation is an important opportunity to assess joint efforts in digital education and entrepreneurial skills. By the end of this year, the Commission will set up a European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) hub in Turkiye.
