Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov was among the official guests on Saturday at the 100th anniversary of the airport in Gorna Oryahovitsa. Commenting on the motion for a vote of no-confidence in the government, he said it was a “storm in a glass of water” and it would never pass.

"As soon as you read the first sentence about the motives of the vote, you can see that they have only a political goal - to topple the government. It says systematic and consistent failure in foreign policy. Any open-minded Bulgarian citizen can imagine how in two months in office, this government can have failed in every sphere of governance, especially in foreign policy," Zafirov said. He pointed out that these are frivolous motives and a frivolous approach, and this is further proof that the opposition in Bulgaria is extremely weak and inadequate, looking for problems where there are none. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the government is stable.

About the scandal involving the Bulgarian European Prosecutor, Zafirov commented that it is not the government's job to interfere in the independent judiciary, be it European. "There are politicians and political forces who are trying to profit from this. It should be clear that the European Public Prosecutor's Office has all the capacity and all the information to give an accurate assessment and make a decision," Atanas Zafirov added.

This is an impressive anniversary, which shows that Gorna Oryahovitsa Municipality has the potential to become a transport and logistics centre of the country, Zafirov said on the anniversary of the airport in the town. "The systemic political crisis in recent years has left a number of questions, including the status of Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport. Now is the time for the state to address this and other similar cases in the country," he added.
