Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov pledged to work as much as possible to increase digital competences in administrations. He spoke on Thursday at the opening of a seminar on the challenges of electronic governance in administration and businesses, the ministry's press centre said. The forum was organized by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

Mundrov said that digital competences should first be boosted where administrative services are provided and produced for citizens.

A recent decision of the Council of Ministers adopted the introduction of a fully electronic document flow in administrations. This will lead to greater speed and transparency in the process of creating and circulating documents, reduced costs and better coordination between different units within the same administration, Mundrov said.

"Last but not least, the security of the processes will be increased, given the need for the use of electronic identification by the employees when working with the information system for the document circulation implemented in the respective administration," he added.  Valentin Mundrov stressed that electronic governance provides transparency and traceability of processes, which is also a priority of the government with the main objective of eradicating unfair practices and corruption.

The digital transformation in the state administration and municipalities, aimed at providing data and services without the use of paper, was discussed by the Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov at a meeting with the Executive Director of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAORB) Silvia Georgieva held in January.
