Kiril Kartalov will present his research on the Camino paths, titled "The Flowers of Nations: Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago", at the Diplomat Gallery in Sofia on March 11, Ciela Publishers said on Thursday.

According to publishers, the author has personally experienced the phenomenon of spiritual transformation along the various pilgrimage routes. Kartalov tells about the development of pilgrimage over the centuries, the different routes, the cult of saints and relics, the signs that travelers encounter along the way.

In his book, Kartalov presents the pilgrimage routes as some of the earliest sources of European identity, where pilgrims, traders, kings, princes, knights, monks, clergy, ordinary people, and beggars exchanged ideas and spread knowledge, both religious and secular.
