Odesa was targeted in a drone attack launched from the Black Sea on Tuesday, Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov reported on Telegram.
An air raid alert was issued at 10:25 p.m.
Trukhanov said that other Ukrainian cities along the Black Sea, near Odesa, are at risk of drone strikes.
Regional authorities have advised people to take refuge in bomb shelters.
Ukrainian military forces reported spotting more than 50 drones flying at once in the airspace.
Explosions have been heard in Zaporizhzhya and Kyiv and targets have been hit.
Odesa Region is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Bulgarians in the region are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
