President Radev Convenes Consultative Council on National Security

President Rumen Radev is convening the Consultative Council on National Security on Tuesday to discuss the risks and threats to national security arising from the spread of narcotics and intoxicants among the younger generation and their abuse, his press secretariat said.

The Consultative Council for National Security is an advisory body on national security issues, chaired by the President of Bulgaria. Its members are the chair of the National Assembly; the Prime Minister; the Minister of Defence; the Minister of the Interior; the Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Minister of Finance; the Chairman of the State Agency for National Security; the Chief of Defence; the Chairman of the State Intelligence Agency; the Secretary of the Security Council; and one representative from each parliamentary group.

The Council last met on October 4 2024 in relation to the conflicts in the Middle East.
