site.btaSofia Registers 5,220-Plus Marriages in 2024

In the year until late December, 5,220 marriages were registered in Sofia, 170 fewer than in 2023, the municipality told BTA. Thirty-one weddings have been planned for the few days after Christmas.

In 2023, Sofia registered 5,753 marriages, of which 4,262 took place in Sofia Municipality. The rest were formalized abroad and were registered in Sofia at a later date.

Marriage Week, marked between February 12 and 18, 2024, saw 50 weddings, of which 14 took place on Valentine's Day, February 14.
