The restored Odeon of Philippopolis, a landmark within the ancient forum complex in Plovdiv, has been unveiled as a new tourist attraction, the Tourism Ministry's press service said on Saturday. "Plovdiv is a city that tells stories. The restoration of the Odeon of Philippopolis offers new opportunities for an immersive experience for visitors," caretaker Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev said.

New itineraries incorporating innovative technologies such as interactive maps and mobile apps are being considered. The aim is to attract more visitors to Plovdiv, celebrated as Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited city.

Minister Miloshev conferred with Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov, Deputy Mayor Plamen Panov, and the Director of the Regional Archaeological Museum, Kostadin Kisyov, to discuss potential international events that could be hosted at the restored Odeon.

"The restoration of this key public center of ancient Philippopolis demonstrates our commitment to preserving cultural heritage. With a seating capacity of 350, the Odeon is ready to serve as a venue for concerts, theater performances, and conferences," Mayor Dimitrov said.

The site features impressive artifacts, including marble tiles, Roman treasures, and a gold amulet, which are currently displayed at the Regional Archaeological Museum.
