site.btaSocial Democratic Party Wins Parliamentary Elections in Romania Based on 100% of Tally Sheets
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) has won the parliamentary elections in Romania, according to official results with 100% of tally sheets processed, published by the Permanent Electoral Authority on Monday evening.
Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku's PSD obtained 21.96% for the Chamber of Deputies (the lower house of Parliament) and 22.30% for the Senate (the upper house of Parliament).
The second-placed party is the nationalist Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) of George Simion with 18.01% in the Chamber of Deputies and 18.30% in the Senate, followed by the National Liberal Party with 13.20% and 14.28% respectively.
Elena Lasconi's Save Romania Union remains the fourth political force with 12.40% in the Chamber of Deputies and 12.26% in the Senate.
Fifth is the party of MEP Diana Sosoaca, SOS Romania. It received 7.36% and 7.76% respectively.
Sixth are the Party of Young People (POT) with 6.46% and 6.39%.
A few hundredths behind them is the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania with 6.34% and 6.38%.
