Moldovan President Maia Sandu has approved a law ratifying an agreement with Bulgaria on the opening of a branch of Ruse University at Taraclia State University.

The agreement, which was signed in March 2024, allows the University of Ruse to use five buildings of the Taraclia University property free of charge. According to the published order on November 21, the Moldovan government will finance the education of up to twenty Moldovan citizens at this branch.

Students studying in Taraclia will receive diplomas recognized in the European Union and will have the opportunity to study new programmes in areas such as management, agriculture, engineering, electronics and automation. The training will be conducted in Romanian, Bulgarian and English.

After the transformation of Taraclia University into a branch of the University of Ruse, current students will have the opportunity to continue their studies at the University of Ruse. Teachers will also be transferred to the new branch, and if this is not possible, some of them will be dismissed according to Moldovan legislation.
