Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) will not support a representative of GERB to chair the National Assembly and will not support a minority government of GERB, Assen Vassilev, co-chair of Continue the Change, told Bulgarian National Radio here on Sunday. He added that GERB are the winners of the elections and it is normal for them to initiate talks for a possible future government, but CC-DB will enter into talks only after their declaration is signed.

Regarding the declaration, Vassilev pointed out that there is quite a big consensus and the question is whether Vazrazhdane will join it or not. He went on to say that a response is awaited from the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF), which "as far as I heard earlier will be positive, we are expecting the other parties to formally respond to us".

Asen Vassilev told the media afterwards that GERB had clearly stated that they did not want to sign the declaration proposed by CC-DB. He recalled that the adoption of three anti-corruption laws has been delayed for more than eight months and called for their adoption in order to "unblock the state, unblock the money under the Recovery Plan", adding that if GERB believe that something more serious than a declaration should be signed, then let them come up with it, but let the three laws be adopted.

In relation to the accusations against him that appeared in the public space, Assen Vassilev said that "this is a targeted attack to divert attention from the biggest scandal in the country, which is the bought elections". He denied that he had worked for the Customs Agency or had taken bribes while he was finance minister.
