On the first day of the 51st National Assembly, the There Is Such a People (TISP) party will initiate a petition for referring the October 27 snap general elections' results to the Constitutional Court for partial annulment, TISP leader Slavi Trifonov wrote on Facebook Sunday. A total of 48 signatures are needed, and 18 of them will come from the MPs of TISP, he noted.

The partial annulment of the election results will ensure votes are checked in certain polling stations and where video surveillance was not available, Trifonov specified.

"The chaos in the country is deepening. I am sure that the feeling among our society after these elections is that something is wrong, that someone is above the law and the Atate, that someone else is harmed, that the whole democratic, electoral process is threatened," Trifonov's post reads. He mentions the work of a number of journalists, especially a piece by Bulgarian National Television journalist Milena Kirova, which "clearly shows the brutal attempt and demonstration to control the vote, to manipulate the vote, to distort the vote, to steal the vote."

In Trifonov's words, morality demands that the normal, democratic, electoral process be defended. The TISP leader also believes that "morality is important, not party interests."

Last week, Ivelin Mihaylov of Velichie, which came several thousand votes short of the threshold for entry in the 51st National Assembly, said that the party does not recognize these elections and will demand their annulment and a new vote.

Continue the Change co-leader Assen Vassilev commented that with sufficient evidence his formation is ready to discuss and submit a request for the elections to be annulled.
