The government approved the composition of the Bulgarian delegation to the 29th UN Climate Change Conference, which will be held November 11 to 22 in Baku, Azerbaijan. President Rumen Radev will lead the delegation.

Parties to the UN Framework Convention are expected to continue their efforts to accelerate action to mitigate and adapt to climate change and to make progress in meeting the targets adopted in the Paris Agreement (PA). The focus of this year's conference will be on agreeing a new global climate finance target to address low-carbon development investment needs, with a focus on countries most vulnerable to climate change.

Following the official opening of the Conference on November 11, a World Leaders Climate Action Summit, will be held on November 12-13 2024, where Bulgaria will be represented at the highest level by President Rumen Radev. A number of events are planned for the Bulgarian pavilion at COP29 in the framework of the conference, which will reinforce our country's active role in international climate diplomacy.
