site.btaGovernment Approves Extra Funding for Maintenance of War Memorials

The Council of Ministers approved additional transfers to the budgets of municipalities for 2024 for financial support to municipalities for the maintenance of war monuments.

In accordance with the provisions of the law, every year municipalities send their proposals for financial support for activities to preserve and maintain war monuments that are in poor condition, which are examined by a standing interdepartmental committee of experts from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Finance.

On the basis of the condition of the monuments, the commission has approved 41 applications. The allocated fund for 2024 stands at BGN 420,000.

The funds will be distributed among the municipalities of Strumyani, Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Pavlikeni, Strazhitsa, Byala Slatina, Mezdra, Roman, Tervel, Dupnitsa, Kocherinovo, Apriltsi, Ugarchin, Bratsigovo, Levski, Parvomay, Sadovo, Isperih, Razgrad, Ivanovo, Tsenovo, Nova Zagora, Sliven, Smolyan, Ihtiman, Koprivshtitsa, Samokov, Slivnitsa, Haskovo, Bolyarovo, Tundzha and Kaloyanova.
