Car parts worth EUR 8 million were found in a base in the Sofia village of Voluyak as part of an international special operation.
The operation was carried out in mid-October on the territory of several European countries as part of a Europol investigation and a European warrant issued for the investigation of stolen car parts by the Landshut Prosecutor's Office in the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the special operation in Bulgaria, under the supervision of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, investigators and police officers confiscated various stolen car parts worth EUR 8 million from an administrative building-warehouse in the village of Voluyak. The goods were stolen on June 22 in the Bavarian town of Wallersdorf.
All the operations of the investigation on Bulgarian territory were carried out in the presence of a prosecutor and officers from the Landshut inspectorate. Operational actions on the ground were assisted by representatives of Europol.
The investigation is still ongoing.
